Sons of Horus

A Horus Heresy recipe for Sons of Horus in the classic sea-green armour. The key bit here is mixing Raging Sea and Shamrock Green 5:1 to get that specific teal-green that sits between blue and green — neither speedpaint nails it alone, but the mix does.

The zenithal (Matt Black below, Wight Bone from above) does most of the shading work for the speedpaint layer. From there it's scratches and chips in black and Autumn Sage, gold trim in Bright Gold washed with Strong Skin Shade, and black detailing via Grim Black with Broadsword Silver over the top for that dark-metal look.

Eye lenses and plasma coils are the fun bit — white base, Slaughter Red wash for the lenses, then Ice Yellow dots and AK Fluo Orange over the lenses and surrounding eye. Plasma is white with Fluo Magenta. The skin goes Crusader Skin → thin Quartz Skin highlights → Berserker Bloodshade where colours meet to add strain and definition.

This is one of my older recipes so it's written as a single-pass recipe rather than being broken out into separate speedpaint and highlight stages like I do now.
