Who we are

BristleForge is a hobby miniature painting community. References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to BristleForge.

What information we collect

We collect only what is necessary to run the site:

  • Account information — when you register, we store a display name of your choosing (this does not need to be your real name), your email address, and optionally a profile avatar and bio.
  • Content you post — posts, recipes, gallery images, and any other content you submit to the site.
  • OAuth identity — if you sign in via Discord or GitHub, we receive your username and email from that provider. We do not receive or store your password for those services.
  • Session data — an authentication token stored in a cookie so you remain logged in. See our Cookie Policy for details.

How we use your information

  • To authenticate you and maintain your session.
  • To display your name and avatar alongside content you publish.
  • To allow other members to find your profile.
  • To send moderation or account notifications if necessary (we do not send marketing emails).

Who we share your information with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. Your data is not shared with data brokers.

We use PocketBase as our backend and database. Your data is stored on our own server infrastructure.

BristleForge displays third-party advertisements. Ad providers may use cookies or similar tracking technologies to serve relevant ads and measure performance. These are set by the ad provider, not by us. Please refer to the relevant provider's privacy policy for details of how they handle your data. You can opt out of personalised advertising through your browser settings or via the provider's opt-out mechanism.

How long we keep your data

Your account and associated content are kept for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal information and content within a reasonable timeframe.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us via the About page.

Cookies and local storage

See our Cookie Policy for full details of what we store in your browser.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
